The Venue

The EHC is about 70 km travel distance (car) North of Schiphol airport and the city of Amsterdam. The nearest city is Alkmaar (ca. 25 km) with about 92,000 inhabitants and a historical center (with canals) and also known for its cheese market. Closer (ca. 12,5 km) is the much smaller city of Schagen, also reachable by train from Amsterdam, but no direct bus connection to Petten anymore. For those who like to stay in a more rural area, the village of Schoorl might be interesting (forest and dunes) or Callantsoog, a small touristic village, but with more fields with blooming tulips around (unfortunately, no public transport to Petten).

 

How to reach the Energy and Health Campus?

  • By car: ca. 30 minutes from Alkmaar; the number of parking places is limited on the campus
  • Public transport:
    • Bus line from Alkmaar: Connexxion bus line 151 direction………. (travel time ca. 40 minutes) from Alkmaar railway station to
    • Line 251 to St. Maartenszee, Goudvis: Every hour, during rush hours twice per hour, travel time ca. 30 minutes.
  • Nearby hotels (larger ones)
    • Fletcher hotel ‘Jan van Scorel’, Schoorl (14 km from the EHC) and with a nearby bus stop for bus line 151. We have an option for 30 rooms during the Workshop.
    • Fletcher ‘Badhotel Callantsoog’, Callantsoog (9 km from the EHC)

 

There are several smaller hotels, B&B’s and holiday resorts around. Please check Google Maps or other relevant websites. This is also recommended for those who like to stay in a more ‘vivid’ area like the nice city of Alkmaar.
